PC Beta for the new CoD has been released, finally. Download mirror list can be found here. In order to get the Beta key, you'll have to create an account. You may also need to update DirectX for the game to even start (try this, if that doesn't work, go to microsoft.com and do a search for DirectX). The 47th Warriors, friends of {MAD}, also have a beta server up and running at 66.55.137.115:28960 Hopefully, the Warriors won't mind if we "borrow" the server for "testing" purposes. Grabbed a few screenshots of me messing around: Blew my own arm off. Ew? Satchel charge and detonator. Precursor for the C4. BOOM! Bloody mess of a Russian soldier: Messin' with the tank. With 'C', you can "take cover" but you won't be able to do anything: The gun does overheat: Flairs, for lighting up those dark corners: Think someone lost something. The "Reload" message is annoying. Audio sounds rather pathetic, feel like I'm shooting pop guns. Haven't actually gone to any other servers as of yet. Hope to see others soon. If anyone has any questions, I'll try to help anyway I can.

I posted this yesterday on our LFNY forum. It may be helpful for those with similar problems. ------------------------------ Just played several games of CODWaW and it's pretty sweet. I had some issues installing the Beta but managed to resolve them. 1) d3dx9_37.dll Missing I went to www.dll-files.com and downloaded the missing dll. One set of inx said to put it in the COD directory install folder. I did, no luck. Another said to put it in Windows/System folder. That fixed the missing DLL error. Then I had a new error... 2) Windows encountered a problem. No description. (ended up being Direct X) After I fixed #1 above I then couldn't get the game to load. It just hung at launch with a useless error saying there was a windows problem. SO, I went to Microsoft's site and downloaded the latest DirectX update. DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... TL7A%3d%3d After that, all was a go! -------------- I'm running Windows Vista 32bit Ultimate.

Not sure if it costs much for a server.
Like I stated in my first post, make sure you have the latest DirectX. If that still doesn't work, you may need to consult the tech suport forums at callofduty.com.
